you'll be able to watch some pix of a new species I found in my country
the plant belongs to the section Aranella , wich includes species like U.simulans, U.fimbriata or the well known U.blanchetii...
an interesting point is that this species is not mentionned in the Taylor as beiing present in my country : in fact, the monography tells us that the distribution of this plant englobes Surinam, (englich) Guyana, Venezuela and Brazil (Roraima territory)
another mentionable point is the fact that the plants from French Guyana are in flower during the months of may and june, whilst the other populations are producing their flowers from august to december, something like 6 months later.....
last but not least, the Taylor tells us that U.sandwithii has a dark red peduncle, like on the pictures taken by F.Rivadavia from a brazilian population : http://users.humboldt.edu/rziemer/Rivadavia/U.sandwithii%20Platanal%2010.jpg
of course, our plants are different ! their peducle is of a bright green....even the calyx !
